Chery Unveils 'Lion' OS Ambitions, Challenging Global Automotive Tech
Chery Automobile, a leading Chinese car manufacturer, is making strides in developing its own car operating system, the 'Lion'. Chairman Yin Tongyue emphasises the importance of Chinese control over core automotive technology, including the operating system.
Yin Tongyue envisions cars becoming more Internet-based, necessitating robust operating systems. Chery's Lion system is being developed to fill this gap, with the manufacturer, BYD, working towards creating a Chinese-owned alternative.
Chery's commitment to innovation is evident in its patent portfolio. The company has filed around 18,700 patents, with over 30 percent being invention patents. This underlines Chery's dedication to driving progress in the automotive industry.
Chery's Lion operating system, developed by BYD, is set to challenge international competitors. With a strong focus on innovation and intellectual property, Chery is poised to lead the way in Chinese automotive technology.
