Get Ready for a Maritime Extravaganza!

For the 25th time this year, Bremen's promenade and squares along the Weser and Stadtgarten, as well as the Vegesacker pedestrian zone, will be transformed into a gigantic festival ground for three days. These vibrant locations will welcome nearly 100,000 festival enthusiasts from every corner of the globe! But here's the kicker - this open-air spectacle relies heavily on public support, as charging admission isn't an option.

Fritz Rapp from the International Maritim Festival Support Association explains, "If every visitor chipps in just a single euro, we'd have a solid foundation to establish the festival on stable financial ground!" Let's explore some ways to do just that.

Contribute Before the Big Weekend

On the Matjestag at Utkiek and Vegesacker city center, a collection campaign will take place on Sunday, June 21, from 10 am to 1 pm. To make the event even more exciting, the folk band Tammie Norrie will join the party and perform later on the festival stages.

Benefit Concert with Festival Bands

If you're an early bird, don't miss the benefit concert in Vegesacker city church on July 31. Starts at 5 pm sharp, with Pastor Volker Keller, the Vegesacker Seamen's Choir, and the Dutch band Armstrong's Patent. At around 7 pm, the second benefit concert kicks off with Seamusik of the finest kind, hosted by Fritz Rapp himself.

On the opening day, August 1, from 5 to 7 pm, volunteers will ask for donations on the festival grounds. You can also find them at the street concerts in Vegesacker pedestrian zone on Saturday, August 2, from 10 am to 1 pm. Furthermore, there will be numerous opportunities to donate throughout the festival days, for example, directly at the festival info booth at the ferry landing or at the deposit cup containers at the drink stands.

Join the Festival Crusade!

For the most efficient support, become a member of the International Maritim Festival Support Association. Fritz Rapp shares, "We dream of achieving a secure and reassuring financial situation, and we warmly welcome new supporters!"

In a nutshell, no act of kindness is too small – every donation counts towards helping the Maritim Festival stand tall and continue celebrating maritime musical cultural heritage!

The festival program encompasses workshops, concerts on stages like the GEWOSIE and SPARKASSE BREMEN Bühnen, and a delightful culinary offering of maritime and international cuisine.

There is also a special Sunday church service focusing on maritime themes with musical accompaniment, and a new addition for 2025 - a 33-meter-high Lounge 360° Ferris wheel at Vegesacker Hafen, providing breathtaking views and an enjoyable experience for visitors.

To ensure the continued success of the Maritim Festival, every visitor is encouraged to donate a single euro during the collection campaign on June 21 or participate in the benefit concerts on July 31 and August 1. Furthermore, festival-goers can show their support by becoming members of the International Maritim Festival Support Association, which helps secure the festival's financial future and preserves maritime traditions and cultural assets.
