Carbon GPT forges alliances with the Malaysian Stock Exchange and leading corporations, numbering in the top 100.

Carbon GPT, a cutting-edge AI-powered platform co-founded by Dr. Matthew Wong and Dr. Ivan Ling, has formed a strategic partnership with Bursa Malaysia, the Malaysian Stock Exchange. This collaboration aims to leverage Carbon GPT's AI capabilities to enhance Bursa Malaysia's initiatives in sustainability reporting and climate-related disclosures[1].

The partnership marks a significant step towards more transparent, efficient, and robust sustainability practices within the Malaysian market. Carbon GPT was officially selected by Bursa Malaysia to bring AI-powered tools focused on sustainability[1]. This move supports Bursa Malaysia’s goal to improve ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) disclosures and climate transparency among listed companies.

Bursa Malaysia is integrating AI-powered services into their platform to equip companies with tools for producing structured sustainability reports. The AI-Sustainability Reporting tool developed by Carbon GPT simplifies the complex task of ESG reporting. This tool is designed to generate fast, auditable carbon emission reports at a lower cost and with fewer resources[1].

The partnership could enhance the quality and accessibility of sustainability data for investors and regulators. In addition, Bursa Malaysia is collaborating with Alliance Bank to offer Carbon GPT's services for free to eligible PLCs, especially small to mid-sized or newly listed companies[1].

Dr. Matthew Wong, CEO and Co-Founder of Carbon GPT, expressed gratitude for the partnership with Bursa Malaysia. Dr. Ivan Ling, a Lecturer at the University of Southampton School of Electronics and Computer Science, commented that with Bursa Malaysia's backing, Carbon GPT is now supporting a large number of companies, including the top 100 companies listed on the Exchange.

The University of Southampton's website team offers support to researchers or students who want to create a startup, at any stage of the process[1]. Dr. Alice Iles, Head of Tech Acceleration at the website, praised Carbon GPT's progress and expressed support from the team.

Dato' Fad'l Mohamed, CEO of Bursa Malaysia, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening sustainability disclosures among PLCs by designating the CSI Platform as the Exchange’s reporting channel. This partnership reflects a growing trend of integrating AI in sustainability to analyze complex data and reporting requirements more effectively.

For those interested in starting a startup, the Carbon GPT team encourages early conversations. As of July 2025, this strategic alliance positions Bursa Malaysia as a leader in adopting advanced technologies for climate disclosures and sustainable finance[1].
