Businessman Convicted for Wage Theft: 106,000 Euros in Damages

A business owner in the courier and vehicle services sector has been convicted for widespread wage withholding and abuse. The Landgericht Landshut sentenced him to one year and six months imprisonment, suspended on probation. The business owner, whose name remains unknown, underreported the working hours of 25 employees. He failed to pay for travel time, loading times, and return travel time, amounting to 208 cases of wage withholding. Additionally, he falsified hours worked, leading to insufficient social security contributions. Over five years, this resulted in damages of over 106,000 euros to the contribution collection agencies. The court found him guilty of withholding and misappropriation of wages. The business owner's actions have resulted in significant financial losses for the affected employees and contribution collection agencies. Despite the imprisonment, the sentence was suspended on probation, indicating a recognition of the man's cooperation with the court. The verdict is final, and the business owner must now comply with the court's orders to prevent further legal consequences.
