Business executive David Fogarty departs from CBRE to assume leadership role at UN Global Compact Network Singapore.
CBRE Veteran David Fogarty Takes Lead at UN Global Compact Network Singapore
David Fogarty, a 14-year veteran at global real estate services firm CBRE, has been appointed as the Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Singapore (UNGCNS), effective October 1, 2025.
At CBRE, Fogarty led the Asia Pacific environmental, social, and governance (ESG) consulting and sustainability services team. His focus on ESG aspects within real estate and sustainability sectors is evident in his work at the company.
Now, Fogarty is set to transition from the private sector to lead the local UN Global Compact chapter. The UN Global Compact is a global initiative, launched in 2000 by the UN Secretary-General, with 63 country chapters, including Singapore.
In his new role, Fogarty will champion sustainable business practices and foster collaboration between companies, government, and civil society to promote responsible and sustainable development within Singapore's corporate and investment ecosystems.
Key initiatives under his leadership will include the annual summit, the LowCarbonSG programme, and the Singapore Apex Corporate Sustainability Awards.
It is important to note that the layoffs, if any, at CBRE are not related to Fogarty's departure or his new role at the UN Global Compact Network Singapore.
Fogarty is replacing Esther Chang, who moved on to assume the role of chief executive at Asia Philanthropy Circle after over six years as UN Global Compact's executive director in Singapore.
The Singapore chapter of the UN Global Compact was established in 2004.
Meanwhile, at CBRE, the team expanded last August from 10 to 27 employees with the acquisition of Singapore-based firm Paia Consulting. Carrie Johnson, founder of Paia Consulting, has stayed on as lead consultant in the combined team, known as Paia FROM CBRE. Corrado Forcellati, former managing director of Paia Consulting, was appointed CBRE's director of client sustainability strategy and solutions.
CBRE did not provide a comment on the reported layoffs, if any. The layoffs, if they occurred, are not related to Fogarty's background, the expansion of CBRE's Asia Pacific ESG consulting and sustainability services team, the acquisition of Singapore-based firm Paia Consulting, or the appointment of Corrado Forcellati as CBRE's director of client sustainability strategy and solutions.
