Britannia P&I Club, the world's oldest P&I club established in 1855, has relocated its London operations to 33 King William Street, marking a new chapter in the club's 160-year history. The move, which took place on July 14, 2025, consolidates employees onto a single floor designed to promote more collaborative working.

The new office space features open-plan team areas, flexible meeting rooms, and modern communications systems to enhance engagement with members and regional offices across Europe, Asia, and North America. The aim is to improve operational efficiency and closer collaboration within the company while reinforcing Britannia's long-standing presence in London as a key center for marine insurance and finance.

Alastair Christopherson, County Group managing director, described Britannia as a "quality local commercial insurance business." Andrew Cutler, CEO of Britannia Group, is looking forward to the next chapter in the club's London history, stating that the new offices will provide an ideal platform for the club to continue to grow and serve its members.

The move comes as part of a series of changes within the club's senior management team. Simon Williams has taken on the role of Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of Britannia P&I Club, while Mike Hall is now focusing on his Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) position. These new appointments are part of the club's ongoing efforts to strengthen its management team.

Britannia's previous offices were at Regis House on King William Street. Despite the move, no changes have been announced regarding the telephone numbers for Britannia P&I Club, ensuring continuity for its members and partners.

The new offices also boast a collaborative flexible teamworking and lunch area, further enhancing the club's focus on fostering a collaborative and engaging work environment. The club's commitment to providing outstanding service to its members is reflected in the results of its recent Members' Survey, conducted every two years to assess the Club's service performance.

Britannia Consultants, based in Northwich, Cheshire, has been writing commercial lines insurance for over 10 years. The County Group, part of Global Risk Partners, has acquired 100% of the share capital in Britannia Consultants Services Limited, further strengthening the group's presence in the commercial insurance market.

The job moves and senior hires round-up includes Britannia's management team strengthening with these new appointments. The club's move to 33 King William Street, London, EC4R 9AT, marks an exciting new phase in Britannia's history, promising continued growth and success in the marine insurance industry.
