BRICS Auto Race on M-12 will feature HONGQI as an official participant
In 2025, the Autoprobeg event, organised by the National Association of Infrastructure Companies (NAIC) and supported by GC "Avtodor", will take centre stage as part of the official calendar of events for BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). This significant platform aims to promote cooperation and mutual development among BRICS countries.
The Autoprobeg event is a long-distance motor rally that symbolically connects key infrastructure projects and regions across the BRICS nations. The finish point of the Autoprobeg route will be the territory of VDNH. This demonstrates the shared commitment to improving connectivity, transport networks, and sustainable infrastructure development.
HONGQI, a symbol of official protocol in China, has entered the Russian market in 2022 and is actively integrating itself into significant Russian events. The automotive brand will participate in the Autoprobeg, showcasing their cars as a symbol of technological dialogue between Russia and China.
During the Autoprobeg, HONGQI will showcase how their cars can integrate with intelligent highways, featuring real-time navigation, smooth suspension, adaptive cruise control, and multimedia connectivity. Two models will be featured: the HONGQI H9, a representative sedan with a mild-hybrid powertrain and a 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine (245 hp), priced at 5,690,000 rubles, and the HONGQI HS5 NEW, a competitive urban crossover with a 2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, 8-speed automatic transmission, and acceleration to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, priced at 3,780,000 rubles.
These actions suggest that HONGQI is not just adapting to the Russian market, but is a full-fledged partner participating in its transformation. According to Ivan Savelev, HONGQI's participation in the BRICS autocross goes beyond automotive marketing.
The M-12 "East" highway, part of the international corridor "Europe - Western China", is integrated with multifunctional service zones of a new type, offering amenities like cafes, stores, relaxation zones, and a well-planned traffic scheme. This next-generation transportation artery significantly reduces the distance between Kazan and Moscow.
The Autoprobeg event in 2025 plays a crucial role in advancing BRICS infrastructure cooperation and underscores the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve sustainable development and stronger economic ties between its member countries.
