Bonprix Welcomes New CMO Nicolai Johannsen as CEO Torben Hansen Departs
Bonprix is set to undergo a significant leadership change. Current CEO Torben Hansen will depart on October 31, 2025, due to differing strategic views. Effective January 2026, the company will be led by four equally ranked managing directors, with Nicolai Johannsen joining as Chief Marketing Officer.
Johannsen brings a wealth of experience to Bonprix. He currently serves as director of consumer interactions at Otto, a role he's held since 2022. In this position, he oversees all marketing channels and customer relationship management (CRM).
Before Otto, Johannsen held various roles within the Otto Group. He joined in 2011 as director of Otto Group Consulting. In 2016, he moved to Otto as director of sales, launching the successful Otto Up customer loyalty program. His most notable achievement, however, is his significant contribution to the growth of the otto.de platform. Under his leadership, it has expanded to over 6,200 partners, 19 million items, and generates a GMV of over 6 billion euros.
Johannsen's academic background is equally impressive. He studied industrial engineering and earned a PhD in the success factors of online advertising at AOL and McKinsey. His expertise in this area will undoubtedly benefit Bonprix's marketing strategies.
With Torben Hansen's departure, Bonprix welcomes Nicolai Johannsen as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Johannsen's extensive experience and proven track record at Otto make him an excellent fit for the role. His appointment, along with the new leadership structure, signals an exciting new chapter for Bonprix.
