BMW Group Financial Services North America promotes a new leader to the role of President and CEO.
In a significant move, Ole Jensen has been appointed as the new President and CEO of BMW Group Financial Services in North America, effective August 1, 2025. Jensen will succeed Birgit Boehm, who is leaving her post to become the President & CEO of BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA), BMW Group's joint venture in China.
Jensen, who began his career at BMW Group Financial Services in Munich on the Risk Management team in July 2005, brings nearly 20 years of experience within BMW’s financial services leadership. He has served as the Chief Financial Officer of BMW Group Financial Services since October 2021.
Gerald Holzmann, Global Head of BMW Group Financial Services, expressed confidence in Jensen's ability to lead effectively due to his strong global perspective and local insight. In his new role, Jensen will be responsible for leading business strategy and operations for BMW Group Financial Services in the United States, with additional oversight for the company's operations in Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.
BMW Financial Services, which was established in the U.S. in 1992, has grown significantly over the years. It now employs more than 900 people, including consultants and service providers, with many of its employees located in Columbus, Ohio, which serves the U.S. and Canadian markets. The company's Regional Services Center in Columbus also caters to the U.S. and Canadian markets.
BMW Financial Services finances more than half of the BMWs sold or leased in North America and offers a wide range of leasing, retail, and commercial financing and banking products. The MINI Financial Services division, established in 2001, provides financing and leasing options and branded financial services products.
Tobias Essig, who has been the General Manager of Finance and Administration for BMW Group Spain and Portugal since 2020, has been named as the new Chief Financial Officer of BMW Group Financial Services in the U.S. Essig began his career with the BMW Group in 1997.
Birgit Boehm initially joined the BMW Group as Senior Vice President, Finance and Group Treasurer in Munich in 2018 before moving to the U.S. in 2022. During her tenure, she played a crucial role in the growth and success of BMW Financial Services.
With this leadership change, BMW Group Financial Services continues to demonstrate its commitment to its North American operations and its customers. The company looks forward to the future under Jensen's leadership, as it continues to provide innovative financial solutions for its customers.
