BC PNP Resumes Skills Immigration Draws, Issues 485 Invitations

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) resumed its Skills Immigration drawings on October 2, 2025, after a hiatus since May 8. This week's draw saw a total of 485 invitations issued across two categories, with 474 going to skilled workers and 11 to entrepreneurs.

The BC PNP has been actively inviting candidates throughout 2025. So far, 568 invitations have been issued under the Skills Immigration category, while no more than 86 have been issued under the Entrepreneur Immigration category. The recent draw was conducted under two eligibility criteria for the Skills Immigration category: holding a minimum wage of $90/hour or $175,000/year, or scoring a minimum of 140 points based on the BC PNP's scoring system.

Future draws may consider various factors such as education, professional designation, language proficiency, occupation, work experience, wage and/or skill level of job offer, intent to live in a specific region, and strategic priorities. The Entrepreneur Immigration draw invited candidates through the BC PNP's Base Stream, which requires meeting criteria like personal net worth, business experience, investment ability, language proficiency, education, business ownership, and job creation.

The BC PNP's October 2 drawings indicate a continued focus on attracting skilled workers and entrepreneurs to the United States. With 485 invitations issued, the program remains a significant pathway to permanent residence for eligible candidates.
