Bamberg's Brenner-Zollner Intersection to Undergo Traffic Light Renovation

Bamberg residents and visitors should expect traffic changes in the coming weeks. The City of Bamberg is set to renovate the traffic light system at the Brenner Street and Zollner Street intersection from September 30th to October 2nd, 2025. During this time, traffic flow will be altered to ensure safety and efficiency.

For the duration of the works, traffic from Brenner Street will only be able to turn right into Zollner Street, towards the underpass. Vehicles on Zollner Street heading out of town will not be able to turn left into Brenner Street. However, they can still turn right or go straight through the Zollner underpass. Vehicles over 3.3 meters in height are advised to avoid the underpass and use Memmelsdorfer Street as an alternative exit route.

The City of Bamberg is responsible for the renovation of Brenner Street and the installation of the new traffic light system. They have noted the construction and pavement work on Brenner Street, including related infrastructure works, under the responsibility of Stadtwerke Bamberg.

Motorists are urged to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra time for travel during the renovation period. The City of Bamberg assures that the works are necessary to improve traffic flow and safety in the long run.
