Rainer Wend Takes on New Role as Chairman of EUTOP Group's Supervisory Board

Rainer Wend, a seasoned political and corporate leader, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of EUTOP Group.

Wend's political career began in 1970 when he joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). He served as the Mayor of the city of Bielefeld from 1994 to 2003 and was a member of the German Bundestag from 1998 to 2009. During his time in the Bundestag, he held significant positions such as Chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy from 2002 to 2005 and a member of the SPD parliamentary group's executive committee from 2002 to 2009.

After his political career, Wend joined Deutsche Post DHL Group in 2009, where he served as Executive Vice President and global head of the Central Division Politics and Regulatory Management until the end of 2019. His experience in corporate leadership, coupled with his extensive political background, makes him an ideal fit for his new role at EUTOP Group.

Wend's current role, however, is not political. He is the CEO of the University Society Bielefeld, a position he holds currently.
