Amazon Increases Salaries for Employees Beyond Inflation Rate
In a notable move, Amazon UK has announced a substantial wage increase for its frontline employees, effective from September 28, 2025. The change, which represents a 43% rise since 2022, places Amazon at the forefront of competitive wages in the industry.
John Boumphrey, the UK Country Manager for Amazon, spearheads this initiative. The increase in minimum wage will impact tens of thousands of staff across the UK.
The hourly minimum wage for frontline employees will see a rise of 5.9% to £14.30, depending on location. For those in other regions, the hourly minimum wage will jump to £15.30, marking a 5.5% increase.
These changes mean that the new minimum starting pay for Amazon's frontline employees in the UK will be £29,744 a year. This figure can go up to £31,824 depending on location.
Amazon's commitment to its employees extends beyond competitive wages. The company offers industry-leading benefits from day one and provides meaningful career development opportunities for all its employees.
The above inflation pay rise for Amazon's employees underscores the company's recognition of its frontline employees as essential to its success. This move is expected to further strengthen Amazon's position as an employer of choice in the UK.
