All ferry transportation routes in Yakutia are operational.
Ferry services in Yakutia, a remote and challenging region in northeastern Russia, have fully resumed operations across the Lena, Aldan, and Vilyuy rivers, as announced by the deputy minister of transport and road management, Semen Korkin.
Korkin provided details about the current ferry operations during a briefing. The Kanagalassa - Sottinzy ferry service has already been launched, with one out of two ferries currently operational. Another ferry is expected to be deployed by the end of the week. On the Yakutsk - Lower Bestakh route, a total of ten ferries are involved in transportation, including two from the Association AYAM and eight from "Ferries of Yakutia." Two more ferries from AYAM and two additional "Ferries of Yakutia" are scheduled to return to service after repairs next week.
Navigation for small vessels used for non-commercial purposes in the central part of the republic will begin on June 2, followed by northern regions in mid-June and Arctic regions on June 16, as per the Ministry of Transport's orders. Passenger transportation on socially significant routes in Yakutia is set to start in June, with competitive selection procedures for subsidizing these services currently underway.
According to Korkin, river transportation has been allotted 38 million rubles in the state program, with competitive procedures ongoing. Beginning from June 5-6, the results for routes on small rivers, as well as the Markha, Yana, Aldan, and Lena rivers, will be announced. Due to budgetary constraints, subsidized trips will be distributed throughout the navigation season to ensure transport accessibility. The first ferry services are slated to begin in June along the Yakutsk - Olekminsk and Peleduy - Vitim routes, with two trips also planned along the Tiksi - Yakutsk route.
Korkin also mentioned that the "V. Rukavishnikov" ship began operating between Yakutsk and Lower Bestakh on May 28. The expansion of ferry services in Yakutia is likely to involve seasonal operations extension, infrastructure development, addressing environmental concerns, and considering economic factors. For specific information regarding additional deployments and repairs, consult local authorities or transportation service providers in Yakutia.
The expansion of ferry services in Yakutia, which is currently seeing the deployment of more vessels, is not limited to railway and other land-based transportation; it also includes the Kanagalassa - Sottinzy ferry service and the Yakutsk - Lower Bestakh route, where ten ferries are involved in financial transportation services. The industry of river transportation in Yakutia has received an allocation of 38 million rubles in the state program, with plans for additional operations and infrastructure development in the future.
