Albert Blumen relocates to Hofingen
Juliane Schuler, a long-time resident of Münchingen, is set to relocate her flower shop, Albert Blumen, from Leonberg's old town to Höfingen. The decision to move was primarily driven by two main factors: high rental costs and inadequate parking facilities at the current location.
Schuler, who initially worked at Albert Blumen before taking over the succession of Albert Goertz in September 2017, has faced steep rental costs at the shop on Leonberg's Marktplatz. The parking situation for customers has also been less than satisfactory, affecting customer convenience and accessibility.
The old house at Höfingen Lachentorstraße 1, with a shop floor on the ground floor and two rental apartments above, will be the new home for Albert Blumen. Schuler has been actively renovating and building the property since January, with her partner and family providing dedicated support.
The bank finally granted the loan for Schuler's purchase of the old house after great efforts. A section of the wall between the previously two separate rooms in the old house has already been broken down to create a larger, more spacious shop.
Schuler initially inquired with the city whether a flower shop could be approved at the location of the old house at Höfingen Lachentorstraße 1. The move to Höfingen will mark a return for Schuler, as she closed her first flower shop in the town after about ten years.
The shop at the corner of Graf-Ulrich-Straße and Schmalzstraße in Leonberg's old town has been closed since June 2023. Andrea Stammel, who had a fruit, vegetable, and flower shop next door, also closed after Reiner Keller sold the property.
Schuler plans to open her new flower shop on July 11 and 12, with a small official celebration to mark the reopening of Albert Blumen on August 23. Despite the challenges, Schuler's dynamism in buying a house has surprised her son-in-law. The move to Höfingen promises a more sustainable and customer-friendly environment for Albert Blumen.
