Almaty, Kazakhstan - Residents and visitors of the city are being urged to understand the temporary inconvenience caused by the upcoming pipeline reconstruction work, as announced by the press service of AO "Qazaqgaz Aimaq". The project aims to replace the existing 426mm diameter pipeline with a larger 720mm diameter pipe, enhancing the stability of the city's engineering infrastructure.

Construction and assembly work has begun in Almaty on a section of Al Farabi Avenue and Mendykulova Boulevard. The pipeline reconstruction project is being carried out by AO "Qazaqgaz Aimaq" and is expected to take two months, starting from July 2025.

The traffic on the northern side of Al Farabi Avenue will be partially restricted, affecting the stretch from Lugansk Street to Karataev Street. The traffic restriction will pass through Dostyk and Narazbaev Prospekt, Pomegranate Street, and will impact the route significantly.

The pipeline reconstruction project will improve the reliability and safety of gas supply for 17,988 apartments and 288 private houses in the service area. This large-scale energy infrastructure upgrade is part of the transition of the Almaty-2 power station to gas, expected to be completed by 2026, with some delays and partial operation on coal until 2030.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, local government or utility announcements would be the best source. The news about the pipeline reconstruction project was reported by Liter.kz, citing AlmatyJoly. It's important to note that no specific information about road closures or residential impacts outside of the specified area was found.

As always, it's crucial for everyone to stay informed and plan accordingly during these infrastructure projects. The city of Almaty continues to modernize its engineering infrastructure, ensuring a more stable and reliable energy supply for its residents.

The pipeline reconstruction project, initiated by AO "Qazaqgaz Aimaq", involves not only the energy sector but also extends to finance, as the project requires significant investments. Additionally, the transportation industry will also be impacted, as the traffic on a section of Al Farabi Avenue and Mendykulova Boulevard will be partially restricted for two months, starting from July 2025.
