Airport operator CEO position remains with Jacobs, confirmed by Daa staff

In a recent internal message sent to employees at DAa, the operator of Dublin and Cork airports, it was confirmed that Kenny Jacobs remains as the CEO, but an agreement in principle has been reached regarding his exit from his role. The exit agreement, if approved, will take effect in the new year.

The internal note was sent to address the ongoing reports regarding the future of Jacobs' tenure and the questions employees might be receiving from family and friends about the CEO's future. The breakdown in relations between Jacobs and members of the board occurred under the chairmanship of Basil Geoghegan.

The deal requires approval from Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien and Minister for Public Expenditure Jack Chambers, and the person who will replace Jacobs as CEO in the new year, pending approval, has not been specified. The estimated exit package for Jacobs is approximately €1.2m.

The focus of DAa remains on business, passengers, and customers. Kenny Jacobs is scheduled to be in Cork and Dublin airports next week. The daa board will continue its normal schedule of meetings, and the approval process for the deal could take several weeks.

The daa declined to comment further on the matter or confirm that a deal had been reached. However, the internal message mentioned that any mutual agreement regarding Jacobs' exit will be updated to the staff. The board matters are confidential according to the internal message sent to daa employees.

Despite the uncertainty, Kenny Jacobs, the executive team, and board are aligned in their focus on business-as-usual matters. The daa board will continue to work towards maintaining the smooth operation of the airports and ensuring the best possible experience for passengers and customers.
