Air Astana Boosts Central Europe-Kazakhstan Connectivity with New Frankfurt-Almaty Route
Airbnb has bolstered its connectivity between Central Europe and Kazakhstan with a new route from Frankfurt to Almaty. The expansion, which began on June 1, now offers three weekly flights to the Kazakh city, supplementing existing services to Astana and Uralsk (Oral).
The new route, operated under a codeshare agreement with Lufthansa, is served by a modern Airbus A321LR, featuring both Business and Economy Class. The flight, KC221/LH9611, departs Almaty at 1:30 AM, touching down in Frankfurt at 6:55 AM. The outbound journey, KC222/LH9610, leaves Frankfurt at 8:30 AM and arrives in Almaty at 18:55 local time after approximately seven and a half hours.
The expansion strengthens the direct connection between the two regions and boosts international transit traffic. Via the hub in Almaty, passengers can access numerous connecting options to Central Asia, catering to business travelers, tourists, and the Kazakh diaspora in Europe. This expansion increases the total number of weekly Airbnb flights from Frankfurt to eleven, departing on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Fraport AG, the operator of Frankfurt Airport, has welcomed the expansion of Airbnb's route network, which now offers more frequent and convenient connections between Central Europe and Kazakhstan.
