Accelerating the energy transition with the wheel as a catalyst
The Landesverband Erneuerbare Energien NRW (LEE NRW) is set to organize the fifth edition of the "Energiewende erFAHREN" bike tour from August 31 to September 6, 2025. NRW Minister of Transport, Oliver Krischer, will give the official starting signal in Heek, western Münsterland.
This year's tour promises to be an exciting journey, traversing Germany, including Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg, and ending in Berlin. Over 100 participants are expected for individual stages of this year's tour, including LEE NRW members, representatives of other state associations, and the Federal Association of Renewable Energy (BEE).
The bike tour aims to accelerate the transition to renewable energies and will visit various innovative projects such as wind farms, solar fields, biogas plants, battery storage facilities, and hydropower plants. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with operators, political decision-makers, and citizens throughout the tour.
One of the highlights of the tour is the "Golden Book of the Energy Transition," which will be filled with impressions, ideas, and political demands during the bike tour. At the end of the tour, the cyclists will present the filled "Golden Book" to parliamentarians in Berlin.
