ACC Accuses C&F Agent Md Shamsur Rahman of Concealing Tk33.52 Crore in Assets
Customs Clearing and Forwarding (C&F) Agent Md Shamsur Rahman faces serious allegations from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Rahman is accused of concealing assets worth Tk33.52 crore in his submitted asset statement, with his total net assets, including family and other expenditures, reaching Tk94.14 crore.
The ACC has filed a case against Rahman, alleging that he acquired assets worth more than Tk52.75 crore that cannot be explained by his known income. Investigations found that his legitimate and acceptable sources of income amounted to only Tk41.39 crore, leaving a discrepancy of more than Tk52.75 crore. Rahman is also accused of providing false information in his asset statement. The ACC discovered that he declared assets worth Tk31.28 crore, but his total assets amount to Tk64.81 crore.
While there is no specific information about Rahman's wealth changes, he has been mentioned alongside other authors in publications, suggesting involvement in academic or research activities.
