ABO Energy & Hydropulse Partner to Bring Green Hydrogen to Europe's Industries
ABO Energy and Hydropulse have joined forces to develop decentralized electrolysis plants for European industries. The partnership aims to focus on the European market, with Spain and Finland being the main targets due to attractive electricity prices.
The new company, serving as an ITM Power 'Build-Own-Operate' subsidiary, will enable industrial customers to access green hydrogen without upfront capital expenditure. This will be achieved through a Hydrogen-as-a-Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service business model.
The partnership combines ABO Energy's contacts with industrial hydrogen consumers, international development experience, and responsibility for energy supply and project development. Hydropulse, on the other hand, brings expertise in building and operating modular, containerized production facilities based on ITM Power's electrolysis technology. This collaboration aims to facilitate decentralized hydrogen production.
Initial projects with immediate customer demand have already been identified. Plants will be constructed directly at or near customers' sites in Spain and Finland. Acciona and Neste, leading green hydrogen projects in their respective countries, are among the first to benefit from this partnership.
ABO Energy and Hydropulse's strategic partnership is set to revolutionize Europe's hydrogen landscape. By focusing on Spain and Finland, the companies aim to leverage low electricity prices and meet immediate industrial demand. Through their combined expertise and innovative business model, they strive to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen.
