A27 Lane Closure: Temporary Culvert Replacement Underway
The A27 is currently experiencing a lane closure due to a deteriorating drainage culvert, posing a risk of roadway subsidence. As an interim solution, the rusted culvert is being replaced with a plastic one. The Autobahn GmbH des Bundes, through its Bridge Competence Center, is overseeing these works.
The lane closure is a necessary measure to ensure safety while the culvert is being replaced. The new plastic culvert is a temporary solution, as it will eventually be replaced with a more durable reinforced concrete one. This final replacement may still result in partial closures after the end of March. The responsible authority, the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes, is working diligently to meet the anticipated date for lifting the lane closure by the end of March.
The replacement of the culvert on the A27 is progressing, with high-pressure efforts underway to meet the scheduled completion date. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow any diversion signs in place.
