7 Kosovar Workers Detained in Limburg/Lahn for Immigration Violations
Seven Kosovar workers, aged 22 to 54, were detained in Limburg/Lahn after being found without valid residence and work permits. The Immigration Authority initiated investigations against both the workers and their employer following the discovery of forged passports and a prohibited weapon.
The incident unfolded when the workers initially claimed their documents were at their accommodation. However, a search revealed three forged passports and a spring knife, a prohibited weapon, on one of the workers. All seven were provisionally detained, and a preliminary investigation was launched.
The Immigration Authority (Ausländerbehörde) began investigative measures against the employer on May 22, 2025. The workers' ID documents were handed over to the foreign authority for further processing. This incident highlights the importance of proper documentation for foreign workers in Germany.
